Way (Wearable interfaces for hAnd function recoverY) is an European project which addresses “the scientific problem of recovery of hand function after amputation or neurological disabilities like spinal cord injury, brachial plexus injury, and stroke” (from the official website). In this context, a technological collaboration starts between CI-ESSE and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, the project coordinator. The video shows the hand exoskeleton designed and developed in the BioRobotics Institute at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. The shell structures of the exoskeleton are built in titanium, by using the Laser Melting technology, the most suitable to satisfy the wearability and functionality requirements of the device (FP7-ICT-288551).
